Your wedding photos will be cherished for a lifetime. and that is why choosing the right photographer is so important.
- Plan early! Good photographer's are booked months, sometimes over a year, in advance.
- Ask friends and family for referrals. Take a look through their wedding albums and ask them about working with the photographer. Also ask other businesses who work within the wedding industry who they recommend.
- Set up an appointment to meet with the photographer. Are you comfortable with this person?
- Browse through photographer's albums. Do you like what you see?
- Discuss your photo preferences: full color, candid shots, black & white, traditional, etc. Keep in mind that full length photographs capture all the beauty and magnificence of the wedding dress, wedding attire and beautiful setting. Close-up or half length (above the waist) photos reveal more emotions and better capture facial expressions. So, it’s a good idea to get a mix of both types of shots.
- Decide how long will you require the photographer's services.
- Compare costs. Some photographer’s charge by the hour, rolls of film, or offer wedding packages.
- Find out how long the studio keeps the negatives in case you need to reorder.
- Read and understand the contract.
- Make a list of special shots you want to be sure the photographer includes.
- Smile, Smile, Smile!
